New York Auto Show preview: Fisker Atlantic

April 2, 2012 § Leave a comment

Fisker’s four-door ‘Project Nina’ is to be called Atlantic, and it’s to cost about £40,000. This plug-in hybrid exec saloon – it’s about the size of an Audi A5 – is being launched at the New York Motor Show with sales scheduled (at least in theory) for autumn 2013. There’ll be different versions and interior ‘themes’, says Autocar, which is also reporting that the ‘Sunset’ – Karma cabriolet – has been canned.

Not much by way of detail as yet after the pre-Show party; the range-extending engine’s a four-cylinder, the Atlantic is rear-wheel drive (all-wheel drive will be optional), and the ridged glass roof structure “fulfills and surpasses all current and future rollover safety and crash-test requirements worldwide”, says Fisker.
