Design Concept of the Day: Vauxhall/Opel EV concept

September 8, 2011 § Leave a comment

OK, OpelVauxhall’s doing the stripped-down bike-style EV thing too (see Renault Twizy, Volkswagen NILS, etc). This concept, to be shown in Frankfurt next week, has “production potential”, they say, and will be low-cost, with young/teenage drivers  “and those on a very tight budget” in mind. It’s a tandem two-seater, has a 60-mile range and 75mph top speed, with “even the odd motorway trip feasible”, they say. As it’s about the third the weight of a conventional small car, it would “be agile and fun to drive.” More details in Frankfurt, no doubt.
