Honda Mugen CR-Z: coming to Goodwood

June 15, 2011 § Leave a comment

Honda is to bring its one-off Mugen-tuned CR-Z hybrid to the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. Lowdown on the spec is that it’s supercharged to deliver 198bhp and 181 lb ft of torque; the 1.5-litre engine has been upgraded and modified and the chassis lightened. There’s a carbonfibre bonnet, Recaro seats, plus larger disc brakes and tweaked suspension, and acceleration is said to be on a par with the Civic Type-R’s. It looks the part, too, with a huge rear wing, body kit all round, 17-inch alloys and Mugen badging. A hotter version of this otherwise rather underwhelming hybrid, then. Video of it in action at YouTube.
