Motive Kestrel: compact Canadian EV

Motive Industries of Calgary has unveiled the Kestrel at an event in Vancouver this week. The Kestrel – nicknamed ‘the cannabis car’ for its hemp-derived biocomposite body panels – is a compact four-seater all-electric city car, and Motive plans series production. The design team say that it has been developed specifically with ease of access and manoeuvreability in mind, and to look robust and tough for such a small vehicle. Its swept-up wheel arches and lower panels were inspired by the forms of greyhounds and sharks, apparently.
