Zero Race kicks off

August 16, 2010 § Leave a comment

Five teams from four continents have left Lucerne, Switzerland for the inaugural Zero Race – an 80-day, round-the-world rally for zero-emissions vehicles. The brainchild of Louis Palmer, who drove round the world in a solar-powered taxi, the Zero Race calls for each vehicle to use electricity only from sustainable sources. First casualty has been the Team Trev‘s wind-powered three-wheeler (pictured), an ultra-lightweight from Adelaide affected by the damp weather, though they’re working to fix it… Follow the progress, and check out the teams, at the Zero Race blog.
