Luxgen MPV: initial lowdown

July 8, 2010 § Leave a comment

Chinese firm Luxgen Motor has launched its Luxgen7 MPV EV+ in its home country, and appears to be planning exports. As its name suggests, this car’s an electrically-driven seven-seater MPV; its powertrain delivers the equivalent of 240bhp and 265lb ft of torque, a top speed of 90mph and 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds, and a range between recharges of up to 200 miles is claimed (albeit cruising at 25mph). The company’s suggestion that excess electricity gathered via regenerative braking might be sold back to the National Grid is a bit optimistic, however, and it’s a shame the thing looks so dull.
