- Latest from Scuderi on its controversial split-cycle engine: the unit’s been through independent lab tests and is returning better, and more constant, efficiency than expected. Full release here.
- The Canadian province of Ontario is to give rebates of $5000-$8,500 to buyers of plug-in hybrids or electric vehicles, as of July 1st. The grants will go to the first 10,000 applicants, whether private buyers, fleets or businesses. The Ontarian adminstration hopes that 1 in 20 cars on its roads will be electrically-propelled by 2020, and its further incentives include free use of car-pool lanes (Autoblog Green).
- Chinese car-maker BYD is to set up a European HQ in Frankfurt, and is planning to launch several electric vehicles, including the e6, in Europe next year (The Independent).
- American urban planners are talking seriously about how to encourage people to walk, cycle or use public transport more; there’s a detailed report from the Atlanta Congress for the New Urbanism at the Austin Chronicle’s site.
