Geneva Motor Show: Nissan Micra

March 2, 2010 § Leave a comment

Nissan’s Juke mini-crossover is more of a headline-grabber, but don’t forget the Micra Mk4: this supermini is about to go global, with sales in 160 countries. It’s built on an all-new, lightweight and versatile platform, with much-improved interior packaging; it won’t be built  in Britain this time around, however, as production is scheduled for Thailand, Mexico, India and China.

First engine options in Europe will be a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine (80bhp; 115g/km) or a direct-injection version with stop-start (98bhp; 95g/km). A supercharged iteration will follow. A new CVT gearbox will be optional. European sales start this autumn.
