Geneva preview: IED Eye

February 18, 2010 § Leave a comment

Students on the MA course in Transportation Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design, Turin, have collaborated with EV-maker Tesla to produce a full-scale concept coupe. The EYE is a usable, acccessible 2+2-seater ‘ideally suited to a young, cosmopolitan target’, says IED, and has been developed for an audience used to constant web/digital connectivity.

Its creation was overseen by Franz von Holzhausen, chief designer at Tesla Motors, and co-ordinated by Luca Borgogno (senior designer, Pininfarina) and Andrea Militello (senior designer, Fiat). Perhaps it will inspire an afffordably-priced production Tesla sports car.
